Fr W. McGonagle

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death on Holy Saturday evening of Fr William McGonagle OMI, a former Provincial of the Oblate Anglo-Irish Province (1982-1988).
Fr McGonagle died, following a short period of illness, at Our Lady?s Hospice, Harold?s Cross, Dublin.

We extend sincere sympathies to the members of Fr Willie?s family in Buncrana, Co. Donegal and elsewhere, to whom he remained so close throughout his life.

The many people who found fresh hope and answers to their prayers through the gentle support of this wise and compassionate pastor will share the sense of loss felt at this time by his wide circle of friends and his brother Oblates.

A large congregation filled Mary Immaculate Church, Inchicore to capacity on Tuesday, April 9th, for the celebration of Fr McGonagle?s Funeral Mass. Burial took place afterwards in the adjoining Oblate cemetery.
