Musical Director for Oblate Gospel Choir

The Pastoral Area of Bluebell & Inchicore, served by the Oblates, and including the parishes of St Michael’s, Mary Immaculate and Our Lady of the Wayside, has decided to form a Gospel Choir. The process to recruit a Musical Director for the project has begun.

The musical director position will be part-time – initially for 10 to 12 hours per week.

The ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications, and experience relevant to teaching music/singing to young adults. He/she will possess excellent interpersonal skills.

In addition, the candidate will:

* Work within a pastoral area that includes 3 parishes, and will be expected to recruit young adults from the parishes and their associated schools, with the objective of establishing a Gospel Choir to serve the pastoral area

* Lead and direct the choir at rehearsals, Masses and other celebrations, as required

* Motivate these young adults and encourage them to engage in youth ministry within the Pastoral Area

The successful candidate will be required to complete a Garda Vetting Application Form. He/she will be required to work within the ethos and mission of the Oblates and the Archdiocese of Dublin, and to observe best practice for the protection of all, and in particular, of young adults up to 18 years of age.
